I started fly fishing in my early teens in the mountains of California and still own my first fly rod. These days I live in Washington state and enjoy fishing the rivers and lakes of Washington and Oregon. My favorite fishing venue is the Deschutes and I fish mostly from Maupin down to Mac's Canyon. The desire to build cane rods started several years ago. Since then I've built planing forms and the other associated tools need to build a fcane rod. I have been helped by many along the way. To date I have built 5 rods and have a couple more in stages of completion. I enjoy building rods nearly as much as fishing.
